Animation
Students in the Animation program focus first and foremost on the art of storytelling. Through lecture, workshops, exercises and individual projects, students explore the principles of animation and develop control and a deeper understanding of them as they progress through the program. The development of technical skills is a critical aspect of instruction and is there to support, not lead, the creative process. Students in the animation program will not only learn computer animation but will be exposed to animation in all its various forms. With an emphasis on drawing and visual communication, the program offers a variety of courses to help the student continually develop those creative skills. In addition to the animation curriculum, students will take courses in directing, cinematography, picture editing and sound design, producing, production design, cinema studies, and a host of liberal arts and sciences to further develop their knowledge, skills, and storytelling abilities.
