Production Design

 

Students are exposed to the wealth of diversity in film production design, from set design and decoration to the creation of props and mechanical effects. Students study art history, color and design, drawing, film drafting, the history of decor, film graphics, and scene painting. Specific skills are taught to help the student work as an art director and production designer, including collaboration with the director and cinematographer, budgeting the art department, and maintaining an artistic overview of the design process on a motion picture or TV series.
